Eligible voters urged to register in electoral list

Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana has urged the eligible voters to enrol themselves in the electoral list. Participating in the 8th National Voters Day celebrations at the Sunaina Auditorium here on Thursday, the Collector stated that India is the largest democratic country in the world.

“Our Constitution has given the provision to conduct free and fair elections to the Election Commission,” he added. Satyanarayana mentioned that those who have completed the age of 18 should enrol themselves as voters. District Judge Anupama Chakravarthy advised the youth to cast their votes without fear to decide the fate of the future. 

Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh said all the eligible voters should exercise their franchise in elections. The youth has the power to change the future of the country, said MLC KE Prabhakar. Prior to the programme, a rally was organised from the Collectorate to the Raj Vihar Centre.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty, ZP Chairman Mallela Rajasekhar, DRO Sasi Devi, RDO Hussain Saheb, DRDA Project Director Ramakrishna, students and other officials have participated in the programme.
