Spectacles distributed

Vijayawada: Inner Wheel Club of Vijayawada on Saturday distributed spectacles to 157 students of Pucchalapalli Sundaraiah Municipal Corporation High school here on Saturday. 

It may be recalled that Inner Wheel Club as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations organised free eye checking camps in 50 schools in the city and shortlisted 1,285 students who are in need of spectacles. G Rashmi, president of the club, said that all the students would be given spectacles with the cooperation of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. 

As part of the programme, spectacles were distributed to 157 students in the school, she added. Club’s district chairperson Sri Devi appealed to the students to use the spectacles regularly. The spectacles are given to prevent dropouts due to the poor sight, she added. High school headmaster Mohan said that the students should study hard and come up in life.
