AP Govt committed to welfare of Dalits: Rajampet MLA
Kadapa: Government Whip and Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy has said that state government has introduced Chandranna Mundadugu-Dalita Tejam programme, with an aim of uplifting living standards of weaker sections of the society in the state.
Addressing the gathering while participating in the Chandranna Mundadugu programme at Chinnagarillu village of Rajampet mandal on Tuesday, the whip said party leaders more worried about implementation of social schemes related to the Dalit welfare as state is facing Rs 16,000 crore deficit. But, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is implementing the schemes for poor despite facing financial hurdles.
He stated that government not only supplying essential commodities as gift to the Dalits during Christmas and Sankranti festivals but also providing Rs 50,000 each to the 1,800 beneficiaries of inter-cast marriages.
He said that about 3 lakh people were provided each Rs 20 lakh worth Innova cars through SC Corporation for livelihood. Rajampet former marketing president Poly Reddy, village sarpanch Suselamma, Dalit Ratna Award winner Ramakrishna and others were present.
