Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi water to Kuppam segment soon: Minister

Chittoor: Minister N Amaranatha Reddy said on Thursday that drinking water to Kuppam constituency would be supplied by diverting water from Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) after completion of HNSS branch canal.

The Minister said the state government has decided to supply drinking water to Madanapalle and Palamaner from branch canal by spending Rs 450 crore. He has inaugurated a RO water plant at Peddapanjani near Palamaner on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister has admitted that western parts of the district are experiencing severe water shortage.

He stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to divert the HNSS water to the western parts of the district for overcoming the water crisis. He reiterated that there was no paucity of funds for supplying drinking water to villages and towns which are facing water crisis.

Instructions were given to the Rural Water Supply (RWS) officials to transport the water through tankers to the villages. He said that the villagers should take the responsibility of maintaining the RO water plant.
