Parchuru: The people belonging to various sections of society are submitting their pleas and grievances to Opposition leader in AP Assembly, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is on a 3000-km walkathon (Praja Sankalpa Yatra) in the State.

Continuing the Yatra for the 106th day on Wednesday from Inkollu in Parchuru Assembly constituency, Jaganmohan Reddy covered Karemchedu mandal via Hanumoji Palem, Jarubulavari Palem, Kodavalivari Palem, Kesavarapu Padu, Rangappanaidu Palem crossroads, Nandiguntapalem and reached Santaravuru in Chinaganjam mandal.

The local farmers met Jaganmohan Reddy at Inkollu and explained that if the Krishna river water is brought up to Parchuru, about 50 villages in Prakasam and Guntur districts would get water for drinking and irrigation needs. They recalled that about Rs 75 lakh was allocated for the project during Y S Rajasekhara Reddy regime but it was shelved later.

The farmers met the YSRCP president at his lunch camp and complained that they were not receiving at least MSP for any crop. They complained that due to the non-release of water from the Nagarjuna Sagar canal this year, the yields were less. They raised chillies in 10,000 acres and Bengal gram in 30,000 acres in Inkollu mandal.

They appealed to Jaganmohan Reddy to support them by demanding at least Rs 10,000 as MSP for chillies and Rs 6000 to 8000 as MSP for Bengal gram. The Barley Tobacco farmers also sought the support of Jaganmohan Reddy in getting average price of Rs 7,000 per quintal.

The 108 employees met Jaganmohan Reddy and submitted a memorandum of requests to him. They asked him to see that they get a fixed salary and other benefits like ESI and PF.

The YSRCP president will continue his walk on the 107th day from Santaravuru in Parchuru Assembly constituency on Thursday, then enter Vetapalem in Chirala Assembly constituency and reach Desaipet by afternoon before ending the Padayatra for the day.
