Rs 145.36 crore for 4,153 houses in Kurnool dist

Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy said that the Telugu Desam government was committed to provide shelters to homeless and pensions to eligible beneficiaries.“Our government is very much concerned about the welfare of downtrodden people,” he reiterated.

Participating as chief guest at the distribution programme of newly sanctioned pensions and Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PAMY) house allocation papers, organised at STBC college grounds on Saturday, Krishna Murthy said the government had allocated Rs 3,680 crore in the state budget for the construction of 12 lakh houses.

Around 4,153 new houses and 3,304 pensions have been sanctioned to the district, he said. 
He said a common man can own a house with an amount of Rs 3.5 lakh. Out of the total amount, the beneficiary must pay only Rs 25,000 and bank share would be Rs 75,000 and the rest Rs 2.5 lakh would be borne by government as subsidy, the minister said. 

For this the government had allocated Rs 145.36 crore, he statedThe Deputy Chief Minister stated the government had distributed Rs 6,000 crore to 46 lakh beneficiaries across the state under NTR Bharosa scheme and at Kurnool Rs 2.6 crore are being distributed to 23,363 people. We are initiating steps to start Aadharna scheme in a short time, he stated. 

In-charge minister Kalva Srinivas said that 1.64 lakh houses are being constructed at Kurnool under various schemes. 

He said the government would extend financial assistance to 4,153 members for construction of houses and suggested the beneficiaries to utilise them in a proper manner. He said that 18,000 accreditation cards have been sanctioned to journalists and house constructions to them would be finalised by the end of assembly sessions.

Kurnool MP Butta Renuka said despite huge revenue deficit, the government was implementing several welfare schemes, which could be appreciated. Pensions and houses are being sanctioned based on the representations received during Janma Bhoomi programme, she said.

 Rajya Sabha member T G Venkatesh said the government was making efforts to resolve all the hurdles that are being faced now.
