Provide speedy justice: Collector to officials

Kakinada: Collector Karthikeya Mishra directed the police and revenue officials to provide speedy justice and compensation to victims in SC/ST atrocity cases in the district.

Speaking at the district-level vigilance and monitoring committee meeting on “Prevention of SC and ST Atrocity Cases” here on Thursday, the collector directed the SPs to speed up the pending cases division wise in the district for a speedy disposal.

The collector planned to meet on last Tuesday of every month to review the status of disposal of cases and directed the departments concerned to submit action taken reports by 25th of this month on SC and ST Sub-plan activities and asked them to submit an action plan for the next financial year. He also instructed the officials to develop a special online portal updating disposal of cases.

In this connection, the collector complimented the police officials for speedy disposal of Chandranna Bima cases without any delay and directed the DRO to take steps for speedy payment of compensation in SC and ST related cases.

He also said that necessary steps were taken to fill the backlog vacancies in various departments in the district and added that the last date for submission of applications for these posts was extended up to March 19.

The collector directed the municipal officials to take up playground works in SC colonies with night playing facility.  SP Vishal Gunni, Urban SP Rajahmundry B Rajakumari, JC2 Radha Krishna Murthy, DFO Nandini Salaria, Dhulipudi Venkata Ramana (Bobby) Kalyanam Koteswara Rao, sub-collectors and RDOs participated in the meeting.
