Thunderstorms forecast for Rayalaseema
Hyderabad: Thunderstorms associated with heavy rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor districts (Raylaseema) and in south coastal districts of Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna on March 17, the Met department warned on Friday.
It said thunderstorms accompanied with heavy rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in Nellore, Prakasam, Krishna and Guntur districts on March 18.
According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the State on March 17,18 and 19. Dry weather is likely to prevail on March 20 and 21. No large change during the subsequent three days is the outlook.
The bulletin said isolated rain occurred in Rayalaseema, while dry weather prevailed in the coastal districts. There was three cm of rain in Gummagatta (Anantapur district).
The highest day temperature of 39 degrees Celsius was recorded in Anantapur and Kadapa. The other temperatures in the State were: Nandigama & Kurnool 38 each.
Jangamaheswarapuram, Tuni & Vijayawada 37 each, Kavali 36, Nellore 35, Visakhapatnam Airport 35, Arogyavaram 35, Kakinada & Ongole 34 each, Bapatla & Machilipatnam 33 each, Narsapur 32, Visakhapatnam & Kalingapatnam 31 each. The lowest night temperature of 16 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nandyal.
