Amaravati: The state government directed officials to identify suitable lands to set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) parks in every Assembly constituency.

The Chief Minister is also contemplating to hold national level MSME conference in June or July to create awareness among entrepreneurs on the State.

Minister for Industries N Amaranatha Reddy instructed revenue department to identify lands in every revenue division for MSME parks by the end of May and acquire government and assigned lands first and private lands as the last alternative.

Addressing a review meeting at the Secretariat on Friday, the Minister said the government decided to encourage entrepreneurs to set up small and medium industries in every constituency which would help in generating employment to people. He urged the Ministers, MLAs, Collectors, officers of industry department and APIIC to cooperate for early completion of the land acquisition process.

He also instructed the APIIC to take measures for creating infrastructure such as roads, water, drainage and electricity for MSME parks. He also suggested to officials that detailed project reports can be collected from entrepreneurs and forward them to industry department.

He said that there cannot be any delay in sanctioning industrial subsidies through online. “The State government has directed to clear all pending subsidies. The industries department is taking a loan amount of Rs 2,000 crore from banks and the amount must be used only to clear the pending subsidies.

The investors will believe in State government and come forward to start industries in the State only if we provide subsides, incentives and clear licenses in time,” Amaranatha Reddy pointed out.

He said the officials should focus on grounding MoUs that were entered with several industrial houses during partnership summits and encourage the investors to come to Andhra Pradesh by explaining the industry-friendly policies of the State government.

He said that as Prakasam district was suitable to set up industrial parks and Srikakulam district for food parks, the officials should put special focus to encourage MSME parks in those districts.

Officials explained to the Minister that lands of 42 MSME parks have already been in the possession of APIIC and lands were identified in some constituencies.

They said as there were no government lands in some areas, procuring private lands would become compulsory.  Industries Secretary Arokya Raj, Commissioner Siddharth Jain, APIIC MD Ahmad Babu, AP Food Processing Society CEO YS Prasad and APIIC officials participated.
