Apart from this, more than two lakh families are doing rounds from pillar to post to get exemption for their lands from 22-A list. Though the government had conducted a series of meetings in this regard in the last two years but still many applications were pending with the revenue department.

Even revenue minister K E Krishna Murthy is keen to sort out the issues, the higher officials are not taking enough measures in this regard.  The public also questioned the government as to how it could get satisfaction levels while several matters related to revenue department are pending with it. Interestingly the government issued GOs to solve the matter, but the officials are not able implement them citing several technical reasons.

In this backdrop, the government has formally taken a decision to form the mandal-level committees to solve the land-related grievances, said a senior official in revenue department. Speaking to The Hans India, he said the local people would also be involved to resolve the problems along with village-level revenue officers.
