13.4L cash seized, 9 held
Kurnool: The III town police arrested nine persons on Monday for organising cricket betting and seized Rs 13.14 lakh cash, 12 mobiles, a laptop, 4 notebooks and a dairy from them.
All the accused have been produced before the media in the presence of District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty at Ved Vyas Auditorium on Monday evening.
Speaking to the media, the SP said that the accused rented a house at Aditya Nagar and have been conducting the cricket betting. On a tip-off, III Town DSP Shaik Khader Basha and Circle Inspector Subramaniam and his team raided the house and took all the nine persons into custody and filed a case.
All the accused would be produced before the magistrate for initiating further action, the SP stated, adding that some more persons, who are involved in cricket betting, will be arrested soon.
