Update: 2018-06-04 07:11 IST

The APCC vice-president says that during the past 58 years, the total borrowings amounted to Rs 1 lakh crore During the last four years, the government borrowings stands at Rs 1,49,000 crore, he alleges

Kadapa: Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president N Tulasi Reddy  alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to ask the people to affix their votes in favour of TDP for sending 25 MPs to the Parliament in 2019 elections as he has not done any development in the state. Instead, he is responsible for financial burden on the state.

Speaking to media persons at Vempalli on Sunday he recalled that for the past 58 years rule of 16 chief ministers, from Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy to N Kirankumar Reddy, they have borrowed Rs 1 lakh crores; whereas during the four-year- tenure of Chandrababu Naidu, it was Rs 1,49,000 crores.

He said that Chief Minister failed in bringing funds from the Central government and also in implementing the assurances given in the TDP manifesto during 2014 elections.

He finds fault with the Chief Minister for claiming that he was responsible for making river connectivity between Godavari-Krishna as it was done long back by British rulers as they made connectivity through Buckingham canal between Godavari-Krishna- Kaveri rivers.

He said river connectivity was already done between Penna – Krishna rivers during the regime of Congress through Galeru-Nagari Sujala Sravanthi, (GNSS) and Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS).

YSR Congress party has lost opposition status by boycotting the Assembly sessions, he said. It will be better for opposition party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy to close his party and go back to business as he was not suitable for politics. Congress leaders Druvakumar Reddy, Chenna Kesavulu, Subrahmanyam and others were present at the press meet.
