Andhra Cuisine Food Festival Begins
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Tourism and Culture secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena launched a week-long Andhra Cuisine Food Festival at Taj Gateway Hotel here on Friday. The food festival was organised by AP Tourism Authority and Hotel Taj Gateway.
Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Kumar Meena said that the food festival was organised to promote local cuisine to the tourists coming here. He informed that they were planning food festival at various places across the state every month.
They would identity hotels, institutions, schools and colleges to organise the food fest. He said each district has a special food recipe and about 50 varieties of Andhra cuisine would be available, he explained.
He said that they would organise statewide cooking competition and a book would be released on various recipes, ingredients, health benefits and about the hygiene, he said.
He said that till now only Bandar laddu and Titupathi laddu have a GI tag and other five recipes from AP would get GI tag this year, he added.
Taj Gateway chairman M Rajaiah said the experienced chefs in Andhra recipes would provide exotic flavours reflecting the cuisines without compromising the consistency of quality, authenticity of taste and hygiene. He said Assorted Tawa Fish and Seafood, Bongu Biryani, Bongu Chicken, Ambajipeti Pottikkalu, Rajhamundry Pullatlu, Chinta Chiguru Mamsum, Ravula Palam Muntha Biryani, Seema Natu kodi Pulusu, Kanda Bachali, Sorakai Gangoora, Godavari Panasa Kaya Pulao, Munaga Aku Kura, Gongoora Putta Gadugula Pulao, Kurina Kakara kaya, Arati Puvu pesara, Pappu, Pachi Pulusu, Dappalam, Kona Seema Panasa Pittu etc would be available at the festival, he added.
