BJP MLC Somu Veerraju seeks CBI probe against graft in TDP govt
Rajamahendravaram: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Somu Veerraju has said that he will lodge a complaint to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against state government about the misuse of funds in Neeru-Chettu and Housing programmes sponsored by Central government.
Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Friday, he said that there was Rs 30,000 crore scam in Housing scheme and Rs 13,000 crore scam in Neeru-Chettu programme being implemented by the state government.
The Central government has sanctioned as many as seven lakh houses to the state, of them one lakh houses were allotted to the persons who are having own site, he alleges.
The houses are in two categories ie.,320 square feet and 420 square feet and fixed the rate as Rs 1,200 per sq ft which costs Rs 3.84 lakh for 320 sq ft house and Rs 5 lakh for Rs 420 sq ft house. But, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu doubled the rate by enhancing it to Rs 2,400 per sq ft by mounting financial burden on the beneficiaries, the MLC says.
In Neeru-Chettu programme also an amount of Rs 13,000 crore went into the pockets of TDP leaders. For the programme state government diverted Rs 10,000 crore from NNREGP funds, Rs 3,000 crore from irrigation department and Rs 140 crore for forest department, he said.
Chief Minister is blaming central government to get mileage, though it is giving funds to the state. Appointing of party president is BJP's internal issue and there is no need to TDP leaders to comment on it, Veerraju maintains.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is not related with Polavaram Project as it was announced as a national project and the Central government is spending money for it, he adds.
