Workshop for civil engineering department faculty held
Vijayawada: A two-day faculty development programme was organised by SRK Institute of Technology for the faculty of civil engineering department on the college premises on Tuesday, said principal Dr M Ekambram Naidu.
He said that the faculty development programme would benefit the faculty of the civil engineering department on the advancement in the field of construction.
Structural engineers PV Prasad and Ch Srinivas participated in the programme as the resource persons. Speaking on the occasion, Prasad explained the new advancements and technologies available in the construction field to the faculty.
He explained new technology of precast structures in construction. He said that by using clay pots while construction of concrete slabs 15 per cent of construction cost will be reduced per cubic metre.
Srinivas said for mezzanine floor house construction, filler slab technology can be used. He said that this faculty development programme would benefit the faculty, students and practising engineers, he added.
