Garbage collection details to be scanned from July
Eluru: West Godavari Collector K Bhaskar has directed the officials concerned to scan details of garbage collection from every household from July. Salaries of those staff who failed to do so would not be paid, he warned.
He reviewed sanitation, taxes, erection of LED bulbs, Mee Seva and other issues with panchayat officials at a meeting held here on Friday. He said that the government was keen on keeping villages clean and spending crores of rupees to achieve the task.
It had provided infrastructure facilities in villages and appointed officials to monitor the situation.
Stating that some staff had been trying to mislead the administration, he warned to take strict action against such staff.
As the government attached geo tag to every door and officials can easily know the status of garbage collection without visiting the villages.
Those staff who failed to meet the targets set to them and failed to scan the details of garbage collection from July would be dealt with sternly.
Lethargy was like a cancer and it would spoil society, he said adding that the staff should not give room for officials to remind their duties again and again.
The villagers would respect only those staff who were prompt in discharging their duties. If the staff neglect their duties during the next three months, they would face job loss.
The Collector informed that about 800 green vehicles were provided for garbage clearance in the villages so far.
The officials should ensure that monthly arrears relating to them should be paid regularly.
Divisional panchayat officials and panchayat EORDs were present.
