Fill ponds with Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi water

Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy has directed the officials concerned to take steps for filling 68 ponds with the water of Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS). Krishnamurthy has attended an internal meeting at State Guest House here on Wednesday, in which District Collector S Satyanarayana and other district officials took part.

He informed the officials that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had ordered for filling 68 ponds with HNSS Canal water for the benefit of the farmers. The Minister instructed officials to lay 7-km water pipeline from Bethamcherla to Govardhanagiri to meet drinking water needs. Focusing on Kurnool, Krishnamurthy has ordered the officials improve green cover in the city.

District Forest Officer (Territorial) Chandrasekhar informed the Minister Kurnool bagged several awards in AP Green Awards presented by the Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation (AP-UGBC) in Vijayawada. Appreciating the efforts of the DFO, Krishnamurthy exhorted the officials to work with more enthusiasm to transform Kurnool into lush green city. Chief Engineer (Irrigation) Narayana Reddy, RWS Superintending Engineer Hari Babu, RDO Hussain Saheb and other officials were present.
