Kakinada: YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy alleged large-scale graft in housing for poor in the State. Addressing   public at market tank (Santa Cheruvu) area in Kakinada city on Wednesday, he said that the entire activity turned out a business instead of provision of housing for the needy and for BPL families.

Elaborating on the issue, Jagan said that former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy   provided house sites to the poor for housing activity, whereas Chandrababu Naidu wants to provide housing by colleting Rs 2,000 per square feet by taking back the sites. By all means, the estimated expenditure does not cross Rs 1,000 per square feet, he said. As the government assures to provide subsidy on cement, sand and other building materials, it indicates large-scale graft in the entire activity, Jagan said.

Earlier on entering Kovvada in Kakinada rural mandal on Wednesday morning, Jagan was extended warm welcome by party activists and leaders.  He greeted public at Cheediga and Indrapalem in city suburbs before entering into Kakinada city. After touring some areas, Jagan reached the market  tank junction and addressed the public.
