VMC launches Scrap Sculpture Camp

Vijayawada: A 5-day national-level Scrap Sculpture Camp was launched by Mayor Koneru Sridhar here on Friday.

The camp was jointly organised by VMC, the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) and the Art Morf.

Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said that the sculptures would add beauty to the city.

J Nivas, Commissioner, VMC said that the iron waste should be crafted by the sculptures so that the passers-by would appreciate them.

Chandra Mohan Reddy, VC and MD, AP Greening and Beatifying Corporation attended as distinguished guest.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA and convener of the camp briefed and introduced the 31 participant artists to the dignitaries. 

He said that artists from Delhi, Vadodara, Chitorghar, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Warangal, Guntur and Mahboobnagar were present.

P Subhashini, local corporator, Prasad, Executive Engineer, VMC and Hari Prasad of Art Morf were present.
