8,284 PMAY house allotment letters issued to beneficiaries

Vijayawada: Municipal Commissioner J Niwas and Mayor Koneru Sridhar distributed PMAY housing allotment letters to beneficiaries at IGMC Stadium here on Friday. 

On the occasion, Mayor Sridhar said that the TDP government only could construct houses for poorer sections on a large scale. He said the government initiated the programme with an aim to provide houses to all poorer sections. As many as 8,284 houses were allotted to beneficiaries by handing over letters, he said and added the remaining applicants also would be given allotment letters to beneficiaries soon.

Commissioner J Niwas said 2,767 houses were allotted to the beneficiaries in West Assembly constituency limits while 2,749 houses were allotted in Central Assembly constituency limits and 2,768 beneficiaries were given allotment letters in East Assembly constituency limits.

He said the beneficiary would get message to their mobile phone immediately after getting allotment in the online lottery system. He said disabled persons would be allotted houses on the first floor. The officials arranged 30 counters to complete the allotment process. LED screens were arranged for revealing information over allotment of names and numbers to beneficaries.   

MLA Gadde Rammohan was also present in the programme and handed over allotment letter to one disabled person. VMC Additional Commissioner Chandrasekhar, Additional Commissioner (projects) Sarada, Housing department executive engineer Mohan Rao and several other officials were present.
