Kovvuru renamed as Govuru: Chandrababu Naidu

Kovvuru:  Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while concluding Nagara Darsini programme here on Thursday, said that  Kovvuru will be renamed as Govuru. 

Before announcing the name, he asked the people to raise the hands in favour of Kovvuru or Govuru. Majority of them raised hands in favour of Govuru and hence Chandrababu announced that he did not have any objection to rename the town.

Earlier in the meeting, the Minister for Excise KS Jawahar had requested the Chief Minister to change the name of the town. After renaming the town, Chandrababu Naidu said that government will develop parks and drainage system in the town. He asked the people to increase green cover in the town.

The Chief Minister said that he will give top priority for tourism development and added that West Godavari district as a whole will be developed. He urged the farmers to give land for industrial development. Youth will get employment opportunities with the development of industrial sector, he said.
