Vigilance raids found unhygienic conditions in SW hostels
Visakhapatnam: The vigilance and enforcement officials, who formed 10 groups under the supervision of vigilance Superintendent of Police D Koteswara Rao, conducted raids on the social welfare hostels in the district on Wednesday.
Ten teams raided social welfare schools and hostels located in Kasimkota, Atchutapuram, Nakkapalli, Kokkirapalli, Narsipatnam, Golugonda, Devarapalli, Konam, Madhurwada and Srikrishnapuram near Adivivaram in the district.During the raid, the vigilance officials noticed that there is no proper sanitation in the hostels and hostellers were deprived of cots.
In some schools, students were unable to get drinking water and not having enough wash rooms on the premises. According to DSP CM Naidu, the raids were conducted to see whether the officials in the social welfare hostels and schools are providing quality food and hospitality for the students in the district or not. Vigilance SI Ramesh, who led a team at Atchutapuram Social Welfare School, said that officials prepared a report and submitted to the higher officials.
