‘Transforming AP into healthy state’

Kurnool: The TD government’s aim is to transform Andhra Pradesh into healthy state, said Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy after launching mobile medical vehicles, at a programme organised at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Thursday, as part of the Mukhyamantri Bal Suraksha Yojana.  Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the mobile medical teams would visit Anganwadi centres, schools and junior colleges in the district and 

conduct health tests to students below 18 years. After conducting the tests, the medical teams would integrate the details to Chief Minister’s dash board, he explained, saying this kind of screening tests would be repeated twice in a year. The government has sanctioned 44 mobile vehicles to Kurnool district, he stated, adding every mobile vehicle would consists of two doctors, male and female, two ANMs and medical kits.

He further said the vehicles would cover almost all the villages in the district. Medical teams would conduct tests and identify the nature of diseases in children. After identifying the diseases, the team would send a list to government hospitals and primary health centres in the district.

For accomplishing the task, the government is spending Rs 47, a year on every child, the Minister said. He made an appeal to the people to utilise the novel initiative of the government. MLC KE Prabhakar, MLA SV Mohan Reddy, RDO Hussain Saheb, doctors, ANMs and others participated in the programme.
