ACB sleuths seize 1 L unaccounted money at RTO office Gudivada
Vijayawada: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths led by DSP SVV Prasad Rao conducted surprise checks on the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) office at Gudivada in Krishna district on Friday and seized Rs 1,00,270 unaccounted cash from 14 agents.
The ACB officials conducted the raid on RTA office based on a tip-off that the private employees, agents and brokers were extorting money from the people who visit the office for works such as registration of vehicles, transfer of ownership, permits and issuing of licences. The DSP said the surprise checks were conducted on Friday and seized Rs 1, 00,270 from the possession of 14 agents.
Prasad Rao said the agents voluntarily accepted that they had collected money from people regarding learning licences, licences, permits and registrations on the instructions of RTA officials, Gudivada. ACB inspectors S Venkateswara Rao, K Venkateswarulu, C Kennedy, Krupanandam and Ramesh Babu participated in the raid.
