Nagarkurnool: The anti corruption bureau sleuths on Thursday caught a Village Revenue Official red handed when he was taking bribe for doing favour. Going into the details, Venkatesh, VRO of Eeratwanipally village was caught by the ACB officials while he was taking a bribe of Rs. 15,000 for granting permission for illegal mining in Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district.

When the complainant told ACB sleuths that the VRO was demanding bribe for granting mining permission, the ACB officials from Nagarkurnool district set a trap and arrested the VRO red-handed.

“We have caught the VRO red handed while he was taking the bribe. We have booked a case and the same has been intimated to the concerned revenue officials. Based on the ACB’s report, the revenue department authorities will take appropriate action and suspend him from his services,” informed the ACB officials.

Ironically, Venkatesh was also held for taking bribe in an earlier incident and was caught red handed. After revocation of his suspension, now again the VRO seems to have not learnt any lesson and again got trapped into the ACB net.
