Nellore: Member of the AP SC Commission K Ramulu asked the cops to withdraw cases filed against the persons, who were not involved in Rapur police station attack.

Ramulu organised a meeting with the senior police officials at the new ZP Conference Hall here on Saturday.

Speaking at the meeting, SC panel member Ramulu said that the incident at Rapur is not a dispute between the police and the colony people but it was only due to mistake of the Sub-Inspector, who created unnecessary issue.

He also said that there is a need to provide employment to the SC community in the village.

Officials in the district have to support District Collector Mutyala Raju and SP PHD Ramakrishna, who are efficient officials, he added.

Ramulu also said to book atrocity case against Sub-Inspector B Lakshmana Rao for ill-treating Dalits.

When the member was making comments against the police, SC panel members appreciated him which made the police association members irritated and they raised objections.

There was a heated exchange of words between the two groups and the SP intervened and pacified them.
