Involve everyone in development: Collector K Bhaskar
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has said, participation in nation’s development by individuals is the rich tribute paid to freedom-fighters.
He garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and unfurled Tricolour on the premises of Collectorate here on Wednesday. In his Independence Day speech, he called upon people to follow the footsteps of Gandhiji and toe the line of his non-violence for the good of society. Everyone should try to work towards realising the dream of the Father of Nation.
He informed that the district has been successfully implementing welfare programmes apart from power supply to all, open defecation free society and cooking gas to all. The administration was working towards building offices for Panchayats, Anganwadis, health centres, laying CC roads and constructing underground drainage system in all panchayats.
He urged the government staff to dedicate their services to alleviate poverty by successful implementation of various welfare schemes. An effort was already put to transform the lives of the students by imparting them quality education.
Joint Collector Venugopal Reddy, DRO M Satyanarayana, treasury deputy director Lalitha, BC Corporation ED Pushpalatha, superintendents of various departments and other officials were present.
