Events to mark Jashua birth anniversary from Aug 25 in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The Telugu Short Film Association (TSFA) and Jashua Samskrutika Veedika (JSV) will jointly organise various programmes from August 25 to 28 to mark the 123rd birth anniversary of poet Gurram Jashua.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, DV Raju, programme coordinator said that a four-day programme was organised on the 123rd birth anniversary of the famous poet Jashua. 

He informed that on August 25 and 26 TSFA and JSV would organise a workshop on Script writing and Photography from 9 am to 1 pm, from 3 pm to 9 pm they would screen 30 short films, 15 each day at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Kendram. 

Actor and writer LB Sriram will preside over the Script Writing workshop and cinematographer and director MV Raghu will preside over the Photography workshop, he added.

He said that on August 27, Folk programmes would be organised at Ajit Singh Nagar and on August 28 Drama festival programme would be organised at Gantasala Music College, said Raju. 

A poster was released on the occasion. The workshop organising member VKSS Prasad, poet PNM GV Ranga Reddy, K Venkat and others were present.
