Cancel land allotment to Tata Trusts: Former MP Chinta Mohan

Tirupati: Former MP Chinta Mohan found fault with the State government and TTD for allotting 25 acres of valuable land to Tata Trusts to establish its SV Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research.

He said that only two acres of land is enough to establish such an institute and cited the example of Adayar cancer institute and demanded to cancel the allotment of that land.

Speaking to media in Tirupati on Saturday, he said both the government and TTD never considered the demand of TTD employees and journalists for house sites but they readily accepted the proposal to allot land to Tata Trusts.

He recalled that, the previous Congress government has sanctioned Rs 120 crore free cancer hospital at Tirupati and then Minister Jairam Ramesh has laid foundation stone also.

But the present TDP government has shifted it to some other place, he alleged.

Mohan also criticised Thullur as a cursed place where 175 Dalits were killed about 200 years ago and it was meaningless for TTD to build a temple there by spending Rs 150 crore.
