Rayalaseema Abhivrudhi Vedika expresses solidarity with farmers
Anantapur: The Rayalaseema Abhivrudhi Vedika (RAV) met here on Sunday in association with other people's organisations, expressed its solidarity to the farmers in the state and particularly in Rayalaseema districts.
RAV convenor Dr M Geyanand observed the government should announce remunerative prices for farm produce. The farmers produce should not be subjected to market vagaries, he said and added the farmers should be respected in the government offices and they should not be made to run from pillar to post for getting their due from the government.
He demanded that the government immediately release Rs 1,000 crore loan waiver dues to district farmers and take steps to prevent farmers suicides.
The participants from all sections of society passed a resolution expressing their solidarity with the farmers. They also demanded that the state government should introduce an incentive on the lines of Telangana government wherein each farmer will be given an investment of Rs 4,000 per acre to meet cultivation expenditure.
