Kambala tank to be made entertainment centre in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna has said that Kambala tank will be developed as main entertainment centre in the city and the works will be completed shortly.
After inspecting the progress of ongoing development works along with municipal corporation officials here on Tuesday, he said the bronze statue former Lok Sabha Speaker GMC Balayogi would be installed in Kambala tank along with some other statues.
Plans were on the cards to inaugurate the park with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
He asked the officials to complete the open air auditorium, gym, walking track etc as per schedule with quality.
The existing Kambala tank in the year 1986 used as a dumping yard with foul smell and the people had avoided going to that area.
Later, with the call given by Chandrababu Naidu for Sramadanam programme, the tank was cleaned.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar, division corporator T Vasu, TDP city general secretary R Mani and others were present.
