CM Naidu appeals to NRIs to extend medical services to AP

New York : Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu appealed to noted cancer specialist Dr Nori Dattatreyudu to extend the specialised cancer treatment services to Andhra Pradesh. When the cancer specialist met Chief Minister here today, the Chief Minister informed that medical teams are conducting cancer screening tests by visiting villages in Andhra Pradesh as part of providing cancer treatment to people in remote villages.

Expressing willingness to work together with AP govt Dr Nori said specialised cancer treatment training would be rendered through Centre for excellence of US to cancer specialists in AP. The Chief Minister assured cooperation to those who come forward to invest in their home state AP. He said a target was set to develop AP as an innovation valley and improve the living standards of people.

Stating that brain drain is outdated and the present need is brain gain, the Chief Minister said doctors should utilise technology to improve treatment procedures in health sector. He cited on the usage of  apps for various  services.

Earlier, immediately after getting down at New York airport the Chief Minister reviewed the ghastly act of Maoists who gunned down Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma. He described the Maoists act as undemocratic. He directéd the DGP and other officials  to monitor the law and order situation in Visakha district and console the family members of the deceased. He said everyone should condemn the act of Maoists.

When the Chief Minister reached New York as part of his five day US tour TANA and NATS leaders welcomed the Chief Minister. Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, special chief secretary Satish Chandra, principal secretary G Sai Prasad, commissioner of Information and Public Relations S Venkateswar  accompanied the Chief Minister.
