Provide 25K piped gas connections: Collector to Bhagyanagar Gas Limited

Kakinada: East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Mishra suggested for a greater number of piped gas connections in Kakinada Smart City. Reviewing the piped gas supply and its utilisation with Bhagyanagar Gas representatives at the collectorate on Thursday, the collector directed the company representatives to organise a week-long fuel conservation week from October 8-14 to create more awareness among public on piped gas utilisation.

As part of the programme, the collector directed the company authorities to organise awareness camps in all the divisions in the corporation. Besides this, the collector also directed the company to provide 500 new connections to each division in the city, The collector observed out of 17,000 people applied for piped gas, 14,172 were provided with gas connections.  

Kartikeya Mishra directed the representatives to provide 25,000, more new gas connections in the city. In this connection, the collector advised the Bhagyanagar Gas Limited to contact the welfare committees of various apartments for provision of piped gas. 

Responding to collector’s directive, chief manager of Bhagyanagar Gas Limited G A Venkatesh said that five teams were working in various divisions for new registrations for providing piped gas. Municipal Commissioner K Ramesh and other officials participated in the meeting.
