Raparthi celebrates ‘Bonalu’

Pithapuram: As many as 3,000 women presented ‘Bonam’ to village deity Durga Malleeswari Devi on Sunday at Raparthi, as part of the celebrations, which have been going on for the last 27 years. 

Earlier, the village wore festive look with women carrying ‘bonam’ on their heads. 

Folk artists and drummers took part in the procession. Utsava Committee chairman Ganesh Varma monitored the festival.
