Council resolution on user charges opposed

 Eluru: The city unit of CPM opposed the Eluru Municipal Corporation Council resolution imposing user charges on people on Friday.

A meeting of the CPM headed by the party leader Somaiah criticised the Council decision by terming the user charges as additional burden on people. 

The party asked the Council to convene an all-party meeting to review the decision.

He alleged that the proposed user charges were introduced in the Council in December 2017 by the ruling TDP. However, the same were rejected by all other parties.
