Left, Jana Sena hold protest

 Vijayawada: Demanding that the government release a GO for the registration and issuing of pattas to the beneficiaries at Vambay Colony, New Rajarajeswaripeta, the CPM, CPI and Jana Sena leaders held a protest at Dharna Chowk here on Monday. A memorandum was given to the MRO on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, CPM state leader Ch Babu Rao said for the last six months, the government had stopped registrations at Ajit Singhnagar and Payakapuram. The residents of those areas were facing various problems.

They could not get bank loans as they do not have house pattas. The private financers were squeezing interest from them forcefully for the loan they had taken for construction of houses. 

He alleged that the TDP MLAs were involved in land grabbing and were getting the lands registered ignoring the poor people.

CPM leaders B Ramana Rao, K Durga Rao, T Praveen, CPI leader KV Bhaskar Rao, Jena Sena leaders and others were present.
