Immigration officials nab 18 persons at Vizag airport

Visakhapatnam: The immigration officials at Vizag airport arrested 18 persons, who tried to board a flight to go to Malaysia for employment without work permit or working visa on Tuesday night. During interrogation, they said that three agents from Nizamabad district had issued tourist visa and tried to provide back door employment at Malaysia after making good money from them.

According to Airport Circle Inspector M Seshu, the 18 persons were natives of Nizamabad district of Telangana state. Three months before, the 18 persons had contacted three people L Sai, P Anjeevan and G Naresh at Nizamabad after they had seen an advertisement regarding civil jobs in Malaysia and paid them Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 each.  

On Tuesday evening, all members reached to the city and during the immigration check, the officials found they did not possess the work permit except tourist visa. They handed over the 18 members to the city police and after primary investigation, they had traced the three agents at Nizamabad and filed a cheating case against them.

Meanwhile one among the victims, a 45-year-old M Sreenu suffered chest pain and the police had shifted him to KGH. His condition is said to be stable, police said. All arrangements will be made to send them back to their native places, the CI said.
