Sugar factory closure a big mistake, says Jagan
Srikakulam: Closure of Sugar factory at Amudalavalasa by the then NDA and TDP governments was a big mistake, lamented YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy. As part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he covered eight villages in Srikakulam Assembly segment on Monday.
During his tour, sugarcane farmers explained their woes to Jagan after the closure of Sugar factory at Amudalavalasa. Responding to it, Jagan said that it was a mistake of the NDA government at the Centre and of TDP government in the State.
He gave assurance to solve the issue after assuming power. People of Velama caste belonging to north coastal AP urged him to set up a corporation for their welfare for which the YSRCP chief responded positively. Later, Concast company workers at Dusipeta poured out their problems after closure of the company without notice to workers and they sought YS Jagan intervention for its re-opening.
Farmers belonging to Narayanapuram Project ayacut villages stated that the project is yet to provide water adequately at least to one crop during kharif season.
