Roads flooded in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: Low-lying areas in the city were inundated and many people stuck in their homes in the city because of continuous rain and gales from Sunday, due to Phethai cyclone. 

All business establishments, private and government schools were closed. Meanwhile, central bus station, Kotipalli bus station and Gokavaram bus stations  wore a deserted look as all RTC buses were cancelled.

Many people who came to the city from surrounding areas suffered to return to their destinations as the RTC services were suspended and they were forced to go by auto rickshaws by paying double charges. 

Gold and silver traders also kept ideal due to lack of business. The officials imposed ban on the movement of boats in river Godavari because of heavy gales as a precautionary measure.
