Improving government hospitals is priority: Sravan

Rajamahendravaram: Minister for AP Vaidya Vidhana Parishad, Primary Health & Family Welfare Kidari Sravan Kumar said that the government was  giving top priority for medical and health sector to provide quality medical aid to the people through government hospitals in the state.

Addressing doctors at IMA Hall here on Sunday, Sravan Kumar said that the government had allocated Rs 8,000 crore to the sector for the financial year 2018-2019 and was strengthening all the government hospitals in all aspects providing necessary medical equipment, medicines along with filling vacant doctor posts.

Talli Bidda Express was also introduced to bring pregnant women to the hospital and also to send them after delivery as part of efforts to maximise institutional deliveries, he added.

The Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was very much particular to provide corporate medical aid in government hospitals and there was no dearth of funds in this regard.

“The doctors should take a good care of the people coming to government hospitals as they come to the hospitals with a belief that they will get good medical services free of cost,” he said while adding that the government was also conducting various tests to the patients in government hospitals. 

Sravan Kumar said the government was laying special focus on providing medical aid to tribals in the Agency areas and also supplying nutritious food to them. 

MLC Adireddy Appa Rao and mayor P R S Sai said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was always thinking on how to provide quality medical aid to the people in the state and developing government hospitals. District medical and health officer Dr Murthy, health services co-ordinator Dr T Ramesh Kishore and others were present.
