Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that there is no need to learn politics from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the state has its own mark in achieving progress.

He addressed the gathering at Lakshminarasapuram in Manubole as part of the Janmabhoomi programme on Saturday and said the state is much ahead of Telangana in many aspects standing first in many sectors.

He said the state had crossed the national average of 2.4 per cent in farm sector and also crossed the milestone of 11 per cent growth rate.

It is only 0.2 per cent in Telangana, he criticised. The Minister said they had waived off Rs 24,000 crore of farmers’ loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh whereas it was confined to Rs 1 lakh in Telangana State.

Now, the State is on top position in aqua exports and consequently reduced power charges from Rs 6.86 per unit to Rs 2 for supporting the sector, he mentioned. Though the State had suffered losses due to natural calamities, it has constantly been achieving excellent results in many aspects, the Minister said.

Somireddy also said that the State government has been supporting the farming sector when compared to many States across the country despite its financial difficulties. “We have no need to learn lessons from KCR. We are far ahead when compared to Telangana State.

The state had achieved many benchmarks across the country and one has to learn the systems from here,” he claimed and slammed the opposition parties for criticising the ruling government.

The Minister announced that they are going to lay foundation for Degapudi-Bandepalli canal in next 4 to 5 days. The government is making efforts to resolve the issue of dotted lands by coordinating with the administration, he added. Local leaders were present.
