Budget enhanced for pensions, Pasupu Kumkuma: Somireddy
Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said the State government is providing pensions worth Rs 1,200 crore and Rs 9,300 crore for Pasupu Kumkuma programme in the entire State.
The Minister distributed the cheques to women groups in Podalakur on Saturday, as part of Pasupu Kumkuma programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Somireddy said that monthly pension was earlier Rs 200 and the TDP government had increased to Rs 1,000. Now, a beneficiary is getting Rs 2,000 per month.
The government is giving Rs 10,000 to women, who are members of SHGs, he said and added Rs 384.89 crore has been allocated to the district under the programme.
TGP Special Collector Sada Bhargavi, Project Director of DRDA MS Murali, RDO P Chinni Krishna and local politicians were present.
