Guntur General Hospital to set up burns, cosmetic ward
Guntur: The Guntur General Hospital (GGH) will to set up burns and cosmetic ward on the hospital premises to render better services to patients suffering from burn injuries. According to sources, the Central government has sanctioned Rs 6.57 crore for the construction of the ward.
officials will take steps to construct the ward at Podili Prasad ward in GGH. Collector and GGH Development Committee Chairman Kona Sasidhar has already given his green signal to construct the ward. If this proposal is translated into the action, patients suffering from burn injuries will get better treatment.
According to officials, the Central government has sanctioned the funds under the National Programme for Prevention and Management of Burn Injuries. The GGH will build the operation theatre on 3,000 square yards. The Central government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for ward construction, for salaries of medical staff Rs 3.11 crore and for medical equipment Rs 1.29 crore sanctioned.
The doctors in the GGH are rendering treatment for burn injuries patients in plastic surgery ward. Under the plan, 4 beds in ICU, 8 beds in general ward, skin storage unit will come up in GGH. GGH Superintendent Dr D S Raju Naidu said the ward will come up as the government gave its nod for its construction.
