Probe ordered into distribution SC loans
Ongole: Scheduled Castes Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakara Rao ordered a thorough inquiry on the allegations on the corporation officials in the distribution of loans.
Medikonduri Jamadagni, a beneficiary from the SC Corporation attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills on Saturday, alleging that the officials were not releasing his loan even though he submitted all documents required.
He was shifted to the RIMS and the doctors announced that he was out of danger. Jupudi Prabhakar visited him on Sunday and assured that his loan would be released as per the procedure.
Later, speaking to the media, Prabhakar said that they had allocated enough of NSFDC and NSKFDC funds for distribution as loans in the district.
He assured that all eligible candidates would be given loans from the Corporation. He said that only Rs 65 crore were allotted to SC Corporation before bifurcation.
But they had sanctioned Rs 2,344 crore in the 2018-19. He also ordered the ED of the corporation Krishnaveni to prepare a list of additional beneficiaries for 2017-18 so that they will also be considered now for the release of loans.
He said that he was ordering vigilance inquiry on the allegations on officials. Stringent action will be taken on erring officials, he added.
