Meet held to review poll preparedness in Eluru
Eluru: District Superintendent of Police M Raviprakash held a meeting with police officials to explain arrangements to be taken to conduct a fair and free general election at the district police headquarters here on Thursday.
The SP directed the officials to inspect polling booths in their respective areas to ensure incident-free and transparent election.
The officials briefed him about the status of cases registered during the previous election. The SP made some suggestions with regard to the cases. He asked the officials to send particulars of problematic areas and identify spots where presence of police mobile parties is needed.
Raviprakash directed the police officials to rush a report with details of check-posts needed to counter the flow of liquor and money during elections at borders and other places.
He also instructed the officials to focus on accommodation and food to paramilitary staff, storage of EVMs and maintenance of counting centres.
The officials were also asked to conduct counselling sessions for rowdy-sheeters, custody of trouble makers and implementation of pending non-bailable warrants against offenders.
