Childline, HELP rescue boy from torture by uncle

 Chirala: The Childline 1098 and HELP NGO rescued a boy from the clutches of his maternal uncle who is regularly branding him with hot spatulas and rods.

According to the Childline and HELP project officer BV Sagar, Shaik Subhani is living with his mother at Rangareddy Colony in Chirala. 

The nine-year-old boy, son of Subhani’s sister also lives with them and is studying Class II in the nearby school, as his parents were divided and deserted him a few years ago. Subhani, who is an alcoholic used to torture his niece for not listening to him.

On Thursday night, Sagar received a phone call from a person in the colony that Subhani is torturing the boy with a hot spatula. He informed the issue immediately to the coordinator of local NGO CREEDS K David Raju, CDPO Nagamani, Anganwadi supervisor Rani, ICPS outreach worker Samuel and asked them to rescue the boy.

Following the orders of the child welfare committee, the officials admitted the boy in the general hospital in Chirala and booked a case against the uncle of the boy.

The DEO VS Subba Rao reacting to the incident and said that it was very unfortunate that the boy is living in pathetic conditions like an orphan though his parents are alive. 

He assured that he will see the boy gets free education and hostel facility to continue education after he is recovered completely and discharged from the hospital.
