Vijaya takes charge as APTA CEO in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Vijaya Krishnan assumed charge as the new Chief Executive Officer of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) at Head Office in Auto Nagar here on Monday.

Earlier she rendered her services as Joint Collector of Krishna district.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijaya Krishnan said it was a wonderful opportunity to experience new benchmarks for enhancing tourism sector in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

She showed keen interest in international events including F1H2O, Araku Balloon Festival and Cookery Competitions, India Book of Records for longest Pootareku and Bamboo Chicken to name a few. 

The 2013 batch IAS officer came into limelight for her ideal message to society the minute she had delivered a baby boy in the Government Hospital, when she was the Sub-Collector of East Godavari district. 

She was the first lady IAS officer who conveyed to society that Government Hospitals are being well maintained and equipped to serve society. 

After assuming the office as the new CEO, APTA, she interacted with officers and staff of APTA and reviewed the progress of the Tourism in the State.
