Traffic awareness programme for students
Uppal: The traffic police team of Uppal conducted an awareness programme for the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya. The awareness programme was conducted in the premises of the school, which saw the participation of about 300 students from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Uppal 1.
The traffic inspector of the zone K Pradeep headed the programme. Students were taught how to cross the road when there is a heavy traffic, and what does the different signals of traffic inspector mean and what they are supposed to do on the directions. There were mobile vans sent to the school along with the head constable of traffic S Somnath, where the students were shown videos and explained the minute details on the importance of following traffic rules which the students found interesting.
The awareness programme was well coordinated by K Sharmilla, one of the teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya. At the end of the programm the students were seen actively involving themselves in discussions with the police officers trying to know more about the subject. They requested the police officers to come as and when they get time, which showed their enthusiasm to follow the rules which were given to them.
The students were also made to do exercises by the traffic police cops, and they were also made to enact like traffic cops, which made things all the more interesting for the children to undesrtand.
The school management and the teachers thanked Rachakonda police team for coming up with this kind of initiative, and expressed the belief that these children would spread the message on traffic awareness.
