Rendering divine stories

Shilparamam Arts, Crafts & Cultural Society organised cultural activities at its premises over the weekend. The cultural events commenced with Bharatanatyam performance by Atmica Reddy. She began her renderings with ‘Alarippu’,  preceded by a Shlokam on Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles and the God of good beginnings. Later, Atmica performed on ‘Gaana Murthe’ of Thyagaraaja kriti. 

This composition is in praise of Krishna whose flute puts everyone in a trance. The Gopika who milks the cows, the gopika who is busily putting her child to sleep, and that gopika who is bathing in the river, all of them are engulfed in his mesmerising music and forget the world around them. Atmica Reddy enthralled the audience with her startling dancing skills.   
            
In the end, dance duo Sreeja and Sridevi rendered several items of Bharatanatyam. They performed ‘Ganapathi’, ‘Chandrachooda’, ‘Ashtapadi’, ‘Javali’, ‘Radha Sametha Krishna’ and Thillana. They audience was captivated with their flawless effort.
