Demand to register cases against KCR, Eatala
Musheerabad: State convener of TMASS John Wesley on Thursday demanded registration of cases under the SC, ST (Atrocity prevention) Act against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Finance Minister Eatala Rajender for allegedly diverting funds set apart for SCs and STs.

At a discussion organised in Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on ‘Budget allocations for Dalits’ during the four-year rule of TRS, he claimed that cases under the Act could be also registered for blocking the progress of dalits and not merely for abusing and assualting them. Wesley alleged that the Act, which came into force after many struggles, was being implemented against its spirit. He claimed that there were many shortcomings in the implementation of the SC,ST Sub-plan which should be immediately corrected by the government.
The TMASS leader accused the government of showing discrimination and adopting negligent attitude in incurring expenditure after allocating huge amounts for SC and ST welfare. He demanded an amendment to the Act for taking action against officials who fail to spend the allocated funds, while questioning as to how the condition of Dalits would improve if those in power at the Centre and in the States continued to divert SC, ST funds. He pledged that TMASS would henceforth work for the uplift of Dalits.
